If I'm ever sued, this site will go up for sale for the amount of damages sought, along with posting any documents I receive. If you think you can copyright a letter you send to me, go for it.
I'm still learning about blog design and I've found a problem when viewing this blog. It does not behave properly in small browser windows and if your display resolution is less than 1280 pixels wide and/or you are viewing the blog in a window less than 980 pixels blog wide, the right side bar is pushed below any visible post. I've searched the web and looked at the code for hours but can't find the problem. My next step, when I get the time, is to recreate the blog with a new template. Advice is appreciated.

ATU Local 256 FY 2007 - Sacramento California

36. Dues and Agency Fees $609,348

20. How many members did the labor organization have at the end of the reporting period?1,345
21. What are the labor organization's rates of dues and fees?
Rates of Dues and Fees
Dues/FeesAmount UnitMinimumMaximum
(a) Regular Dues/Fees60.84permonth
(b) Working Dues/Fees0per
(c) Initiation Fees300.00per
(d) Transfer Fees0per
(e) Work Permits0per

The Dawg and me are just snooping around and posting what we see but every once in a while something doesn't make sense and we have to ask a question or two.

I sure ain't no math whiz but I've got me a calculator and when I punch in $60.84 X 1345, it gives me $968,400: Just a tad more than $609,348.

There are a lot of
explanations:

12. During the reporting period did the labor organization have an audit or review of its books and records by an outside accountant or by a parent body auditor/representative?                                       YES

The accountant made a mistake. Oops, wait. You didn't pay any accountant in 2007 or you forgot to list the payment.

Membership jumped by 33% at the end of 2007.

Dues jumped by 33% at the end of 2007.

It's a shame there isn't a 2006 filing, it might give us an idea of what happened. The web site is no help, it just says there are over 1200 members. It really doesn't matter, I don't pay dues to Local 256.
