21. What are the labor organization's rates of dues and fees?
Rates of Dues and Fees | Dues/Fees | Amount | | Unit | Minimum | Maximum | (a) Regular Dues/Fees | 60.84 | per | month | | | (b) Working Dues/Fees | 0 | per | | | | (c) Initiation Fees | 300.00 | per | | | | (d) Transfer Fees | 0 | per | | | | (e) Work Permits | 0 | per | | | |
The Dawg and me are just snooping around and posting what we see but every once in a while something doesn't make sense and we have to ask a question or two.
I sure ain't no math whiz but I've got me a calculator and when I punch in $60.84 X 1345, it gives me $968,400: Just a tad more than $609,348.
There are a lot of explanations:
12. During the reporting period did the labor organization have an audit or review of its books and records by an outside accountant or by a parent body auditor/representative? YES
The accountant made a mistake. Oops, wait. You didn't pay any accountant in 2007 or you forgot to list the payment.
Membership jumped by 33% at the end of 2007.
Dues jumped by 33% at the end of 2007.
It's a shame there isn't a 2006 filing, it might give us an idea of what happened. The web site is no help, it just says there are over 1200 members. It really doesn't matter, I don't pay dues to Local 256. |
